DUI Arrest Video Woman Crashes Into Electric Substation After X Mas Party! In the early morning hours, officers from the St. Charles Police Department responded to a crash on North Riverside Avenue after receiving a crash notification from Tri-Com Central Dispatch. Officer Patel arrived to find a Nissan Juke with severe front-end damage after colliding with the ledge of an electric substation. The driver, Maria, appeared disoriented and mistakenly stated she was in South Elgin, though she was in St. Charles.

Sergeant Bradley Schumacher arrived soon after and initiated a DUI investigation. Maria admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages earlier at a Christmas party and mentioned being at a place she referred to as "More Brewery" in St. Charles, which does not exist. She failed several field sobriety tests, including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand, all indicating impairment. A breathalyzer test later revealed her blood alcohol concentration to be significantly over the legal limit.

Maria was charged with multiple offenses, including Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence with a BAC over the legal limit, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and Expired Registration. After being processed at the St. Charles Police Department, she was released to a friend and is awaiting her court appearance.
