Bodycam Captures Fatal Encounter Between Police and Armed Man in Greensboro

On June 26, 2024, at approximately 8:21 a.m., Greensboro Police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Crestridge Road in reference to a threatening suicide call.

Upon arrival, an officer encountered a subject, later identified as Titus Kopp, 28, who was armed with a knife. The officer gave a command to drop the knife, and Kopp ignored the command and advanced toward the officer while continuing to display the weapon. The officer discharged their firearm, striking Kopp.
The officer immediately requested EMS and rendered aid.

Officers and EMS continued rendering aid before Kopp was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
