Furthermore, the State Department was notably quick to dismantle its Office of Diversity and Inclusion, established under former Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The Education Department has also canceled contracts worth upwards of $26 million associated with DEI training programs and placed staff who led these initiatives on paid administrative leave, hinting at larger layoffs to come. The response from within the administration saw the appointment of nearly a dozen new political appointees, many affiliated with conservative think tanks, suggesting a shift towards further aligning federal efforts with Trump's America First agenda.

Civil rights advocates and organizations like the National Urban League warn that these actions not only strip away essential resources but could also set the stage for increased discrimination within hiring processes across government and federal contractors.
