BOMBSHELL For Israel As Trump Makes Hezbollah Very Happy!

Right, so the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon ends on Sunday, but in a show of barefaced cheek from Netanyahu’s bunch, they’ve only gone and asked for an extension!
Despite having breached the ceasefire themselves more than 1000 times from the first day, not a day has gone by of this ceasefire that Israel hasn’t breached it, where they have pledged to remain in Lebanon in defiance of the ceasefire terms since it began, having had 60 days to basically get away with invading their weaselly black guts out, they now want another 30 days to finish what they’re doing ang then clear out. Or so they say.
The arbiters of this decision being the overseers of this ceasefire, the nations supposedly enforcing it, yet have clearly not done that, in this case that being France and the US and just the other day it was being widely assumed this extension would be granted, because where it comes to Israel shamelessness has no limits it seems where France and America are concerned, however that’s changed with Trump now becoming President and despite being even more Netanyahu’s type, well, that extension might have just gone the way of the dodo.
Right, so Israel’s hoped for extension to it’s ongoing invasion of Lebanon, laughably still called a ceasefire when only one side has actually abided by that appears to have evaporated thanks to Donald Trump, pretty much putting a smile on the faces of Hezbollah and the rest of Lebanon, having basically told Israel no – somebody actually told them no and I know it’s Donald Trump, but frankly any Western leader actually saying no to Israel is a novelty.
For a couple of days it has been known that Israel wanted another 30 days to carry on indiscriminately attacking towns and villages across southern Lebanon and with France and the US the ones charged with overseeing what has been a total farce of a ceasefire, it looked like they might get it, if Biden was still President I’m certain they would have done, but no matter how much closer Trump ostensibly appears to be to Netanyahu, he’s nothing if not unpredictable and he does like to present this image of being an anti war President, even if the record actually shows otherwise, increasing troop numbers as he did, a ballooning Pentagon budget in each year of his first presidency, he dropped more bombs and oversaw more civilian death in his presidency than the previous Obama administration, yet people will point to Afghanistan ending as proof that he’s anti war. There is no such thing when it comes to US Presidents, certainly over the last several decades.
It has also followed a statement by Hezbollah calling out Israel’s request and what they think of it, reading:
‘The 60-day period for the Zionist enemy to permanently withdraw from Lebanese territory is about to end, and this necessitates its full and comprehensive implementation in accordance with what was stated in the ceasefire agreement.
Certain leaks concerning the enemy postponing its withdrawal and staying longer in Lebanon require everyone—especially the political leadership in Lebanon and those pressuring the countries sponsoring the agreement—to act effectively and closely the last days of the deadline in a way that guarantees the implementation of the complete withdrawal, the deployment of the Lebanese army to every inch of Lebanese territory, the swift return of residents to their villages, and the prevention of any excuses or arguments for prolonging the occupation.
Any violation of the 60-day period constitutes a blatant violation of the agreement, an attack on Lebanese sovereignty, and the beginning of a new chapter of occupation. This demands that the state confront it using all means and methods sanctioned by international conventions to reclaim the land and wrest it from the grip of the occupation.
As we continue to monitor the developments of the situation, which are supposed to culminate in a full withdrawal in the coming days, we affirm that any breach of the agreement or attempt to evade commitments under weak pretexts will not be tolerated. We call for strict adherence to the agreement, without concessions.’
Well indeed, Lebanon does a have a right to defend itself and if Israel violate it, what do I mean if? When they violate it, all bets will be off, including where it comes to Hezbollah. To grant Israel an extension of the ceasefire when they’ve never adhered to it would be an extraordinary abuse of power by the US and France, and it seems there’s no benefit to allowing it for Doanld Trump either.
Now it’s not as if Israel haven’t tried to justify this either though.
The reason they reportedly requested an additional 30 days from France and the US was to complete the withdrawal of its troops from southern Lebanon, yet they’ve done nothing but advance, have not made any moves to leave ahead of the deadline, so is disingenuous at best, but then Israel is so used to getting its own way.
Now according to Israeli news outlet Haaretz, a source familiar with the matter said that the US and France were in discussions with Israeli and Lebanese officials regarding the requested extension. The source adding that France had no objections to granting the extension, provided the other parties agree, par for the course with France, 1000+ Israeli breaches of the ceasefire you’ve turned a blind eye to, no wonder you can’t see any reason not to approve it.
The following morning however, it was reported over Israeli Army Radio that the Trump administration was less willing than France to approve extension and certainly less willing to approve it over the Biden administration, preferring that the withdrawal be completed by Sunday, on time and on schedule.
Nevertheless discussions are apparently ongoing, but it can’t be said that Netanyahu is necessarily helping his case here either.
According to the Israeli State Broadcaster KAN, Netanyahu has ordered the IDF to stay in the eastern sector of Lebanon, saying that discussions with the US are ongoing. In other words it’s time for Israel to turn the water works and plead victim even though they’ve been attacking Lebanon since the end of November fearing no retaliation. It’s all playing for time, and one sneaky argument being made is that it gives extra time to Lebanon to strengthen their control of southern Lebanon, replacing Hezbollah there as part of the deal, securing the area, but that’s actually really difficult when Israel haven’t abided by the ceasefire and are still attacking! Netanyahu’s argument is that Israel’s withdrawal is dependent on Lebanon’s army assuming control of Southern Lebanon, yet Israel have prevented that with their ongoing attacks.
At time of writing, a statement dropped from Netanyahu’s office, stating that the withdrawal could take mor than the 60 days because Lebanon need to assume control, never mind that we’ve been hindering that of course. It does speak to conversations still going on though and Netanyahu believing Trump will come around to his way of thinking. Will he though? It reads:
‘The ceasefire agreement in Lebanon stipulates that the gradual withdrawal of IDF forces will be implemented within 60 days. The section was formulated in this way with the understanding that the withdrawal process could take more than 60 days. The IDF withdrawal process is conditional on the deployment of the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon and its full and effective implementation of the agreement, while Hezbollah withdraws beyond the Litani River. Since the ceasefire agreement has not yet been fully implemented by the Lebanese state, the gradual withdrawal process will continue in full coordination with the United States. Israel will not endanger its settlements and citizens, and will insist on the full implementation of the goal of the fighting in the north - the safe return of residents to their homes.’
There are those in Israeli ranks blaming Lebanon for everything instead however.
For example, Ynet have reported that the decision to secure an extension was made during a meeting of Israel’s Security and Political Affairs Council without a formal cabinet vote. That has had some Israeli figures popping up with some crackpot justifications, such as the leader of the far right Yisrael Beiteinu party, Avigdor Lieberman supporting the delay by claiming that Lebanon has not upheld its end of the
agreement. Besides that Israel has also warned it will respond forcefully to any 'violations' by Hezbollah during this extended period, despite there not having been any beyond the occasional warning shots fired, the violations in Lebanon have been very one sided.
Even if Trump were to overcome his reluctance to grant a ceasefire extension, especially when you consider that Joe Biden was allegedly all for granting it and there’s an argument for saying Trump would want to distance himself from that, it’s not so simple as to impose this and expect Lebanon to accept it and it isn’t just Lebanon accepting it, but Hezbollah too and their statement from the start of this video does not sound at all open to further negotiation on this point. If you were Lebanese would you given Israel has done nothing but carry on attacking you regardless of a supposed ceasefire and the likes of the US and France have sat on their thumbs and done nothing about it? I’d be pretty jaded about that wouldn’t you?
There’s an also an argument for saying Israel’s claims don’t stack up given Lebanon is now under new leadership, has a new President which it has lacked for the last two and half years in Joseph Aoun, who has good Western links as well as Arab ones and a new Prime Minister and both want Israel out as per the agreement. Are the whims of Prime Minister Netanyahu greater than those of President Aoun and his Prime Minister Nawaf Salam?
I think if an extension gets granted, Hezbollah won’t pay the slightest notice of it, because whatever justification is used, Israel have abused that ceasefire constantly, but equally the fact Netanyahu is having to run around like a headless chicken now to get his way from a guy he thought was even more on his side than Genocide Joe is hilarious. Israel have never abided by the ceasefire, any return to fighting is on them as we’ve seen Lebanon and Hezbollah have abided by the ceasefire and I think regardless of whether an extension is granted or not, unfortunately next week will probably see a return to fight in Lebanon. Blame must be attributed correctly, if Trump is looking at this the same way I have, he’ll see no benefit to himself whatsoever to give Israel what it wants. This is a problem they’ve made for themselves and if Hezbollah are smiling right now, they’ve been given reason to, because there is no way Israel or Netanyahu come out of this looking good.
That goes double when you consider all of the most recent attacks they’ve been meting out in Lebanon when they should have actually been withdrawing in the last few days.
