Elysium's Embrace

I drink sweet wine, though it’s harmful to me,
Melancholy peeks out from behind the clouds, you see.
Another day has passed like a shadow in my mind,
Living on a footbridge, the abyss not far behind.

I breathe her name into the air,
A quiet hope, a fleeting prayer.

I live for her because she loves me,
In her arms is where I long to be.
The chill of the evening whispers frost in my ear,
Another glass, my medicine now and here.

The stars above are silent, cold and grey,
They watch my struggles as the night steals the day.
Her laughter lingers like a ghost within my chest,
I chase her light but never seem to find my rest.

The footbridge shakes, the abyss sighs,
But her love holds me, keeps me alive.

I live for her because she loves me,
In her gaze, the dark can’t touch me.
The chill of the evening brings frost near,
Another glass, my medicine now and here.

Sweet wine numbs the ache, but her love keeps me whole,
Through every shadow, she’s the warmth in my soul.

Melancholy fades, though it always lingers near,
I’ll take her hand and walk through the fear.
Another day has passed, and I’m still here.
