There’s been a lot of debate about the U.S. government banning TikTok—and I get it, it’s a bold, controversial move. But let’s break this down:

Banning TikTok wasn't about weakness; it’s about sending a message. If another country is profiting from us while hurting its own people and censoring our platforms, should we just let it continue? The answer isn’t simple, but the logic is clear: We can’t allow a double standard.

The real question is: Is TikTok the root of the problem? China’s ability to gain intel extends far beyond one app. Shouldn’t we focus on bigger systemic issues and negotiate terms that level the playing field for all platforms?

If I were negotiating, I’d say: You want TikTok? Fine—but give us equal access for our platforms too. This isn’t just about TikTok—it’s about global accountability and holding everyone to the same standard.

💡 What do you think: Was the TikTok ban a step toward fairness or an overreach? Let’s discuss below.
