HAVE CHURCHES LOST THEIR WAY?

Dear Pastor Bob: It appears that many once conservative Churches are becoming more and more liberal. They are abandoning not only the Scriptures on many issues, but they are moving away from their rich historical roots as well. Why does this happen? And why are so many pastors and elders bending to the pressure? Some have said they do this because they believe it is a more loving, and more Christ-like approach. Even if it means compromising things. On the other hand, there are pastors who are not caving to liberalism in the Church, but they are often afraid to confront the issue. It seems as if they are afraid of offending their congregation. While they firmly hold to Biblical truths on controversial issues, they don’t know how to talk about it without being shunned by the masses. It may not be popular to be Biblical, but we must stand up for the truth of God’s Word. We are here to speak the truth, not tickle ears. Do you have any thoughts on this matter before us?
