What I Learned From My Old Self

My biggest battle is myself.

I know exactly what to say to convince me the sleep a little longer, have another drink, stop tracking my food.

These voices will attack my will in the form of reason, logic, what other people are doing, comparison, what other people think....

If I listen to them I will inevitably be sunk back into the worst version of myself.

I can never make these voices away but I can make them weaker.

If I prove to myself these voices are meaningless they become meaningless.

If I give into them, I'm just proven they aren't meaningless and they have control over me.

Then the sad, fat, complacent, and scared version of myself will take over.

This is the person I have to battle every day to become the man I want to be.

My old self.

Once I can defeat myself, I can truly rise.
