Side Note:
"Beauty and the Beast" was one of the first animated films to use a considerable amount of computer-generated imagery (CGI), particularly for the ballroom dance scene, which blended traditional and digital animation seamlessly. It was the first Disney feature to use the Computer Animation Production System (CAPS) extensively, allowing for more sophisticated layering of colors and images, creating depth and fluidity. Despite the use of CGI, much of the film's animation was still hand-drawn.

Plot:
Synopsis: Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, takes her father's place as the prisoner of a Beast in his castle. Despite his initial hostility, she learns to see the kind heart and soul of the prince inside the Beast. As they fall in love, the curse on the castle begins to lift, but external threats from Gaston complicate the situation.

Characters:
Belle: The protagonist, an intelligent and kind-hearted young woman.
Beast: The prince cursed to live as a beast until he learns to love and be loved in return.
Gaston: The vain and narcissistic antagonist who wants Belle for himself.
Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth: Enchanted objects who were once the castle's servants, providing comic relief and wisdom.
Maurice: Belle's loving but somewhat eccentric inventor father.
LeFou: Gaston’s dim-witted but loyal sidekick.
