This is the German version. It was renamed 'Endstation' for the lovely krauts.
The plot and the themes are pretty much identical to the English version. The English version aired as an Armchair Theatre play: 'The End of the Line' - Season 10 Episode 4 (1970).

The play (both English and German versions) is about a Cold War-era confrontation between two intelligence operatives aboard a train. The story explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the psychological toll of espionage. The confined setting of the train amplifies the tension as the two characters, both seasoned spies, engage in a deadly game of wit and manipulation.

The plot involves one spy escorting another, who is ostensibly defecting but may have ulterior motives. As the journey unfolds, their dialogue reveals layers of mistrust, deception, and moral ambiguity, hallmarks of le Carré's exploration of the human cost of espionage.

I have done some English subtitles but they are flaky - and it is dead boring doing them, and very time consuming - so I have given up. If anybody has good German and would like to say where the subtitle file need amending, I'd be obliged. I will of course put up the English version if I can get hold of it.
