APOKALYPSIS
(Written by Ben Antoniadis)

This town ain’t the place it once was,
or has it been revealed for what it always was?
The jailer holds the key to the city
The inmates pretend that all men are free

A world built on deceit agreed
Soapbox dreamers stomp and disagree
The lie exposed, the truth revealed
Apokalypsis, is every fate sealed?

Under the stars like a starry-eyed drunk
Follow your heart like a bleary-eyed monk
We all gotta’ go, though we don’t know when
When comes the time, it’ll be my time then

Lugging my heart like a bag of butterflies
Up the hill under heavy skies
Wings that flutter like cat o’ nine tails
Flailing my back as Sisyphus wails

Beating his head against the wall
The pagan answers a payphone call
Hoping the Lord might call his name
And slowly seep and bleed into his brain

Under the stars like a starry-eyed drunk
Follow your heart like a bleary-eyed monk
We all gotta’ go, though we don’t know when
When comes the time, it’ll be my time then

They say get on the A.I. train
Get on today or be swept away
I guess I’ll lie with the fools and drunks
Watch the world go by and their ships get sunk

The world outside all in your mind
Smoke and mirrors, propaganda and lies
An earthly hell of their own design
To herd like cattle into your demise

Under the stars like a starry-eyed drunk
Follow your heart like a bleary-eyed monk
We all gotta’ go, though we don’t know when
When comes the time, it’ll be my time then

Under the stars like a starry-eyed drunk
Follow your heart like a bleary-eyed monk
We all gotta’ go, though we don’t know when
When comes the time, it’ll be my time then
