President Donald Trump’s national security adviser is sidelining about 160 career government employees – who provides national security and foreign policy advice to the president – as the administration takes deep review of the staffing.
Their goal is to make sure that employees at the White House are aligned with the America First Agenda of the Trump Administration.

The employees, commonly referred to as detailees, were told to be available to the NSC’s senior directors – but would not need to report to the White House.

Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz had signaled before Inauguration Day that he would look to remove holdover civil servants that served under Joe Biden back to their home agencies.
