The Sonamarg Tunnel, formerly known as the Z-Morh Tunnel, is a 6.5-kilometer (4-mile) bi-directional road tunnel connecting Gagangir and Sonamarg in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. This strategic infrastructure project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 13, 2025, at a cost of over ₹2,700 crore (approximately $932 million).

Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,637 meters (8,650 feet) above sea level, the tunnel ensures all-weather connectivity to the popular tourist destination of Sonamarg, which previously remained inaccessible during heavy snowfall. The tunnel is designed to accommodate the flow of 1,000 vehicles per hour at an approved maximum speed of 80 km/h, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing safety.
