Undeserved Joy

Oh the underserved joy of a God who can save a deplorable nation in a day when we were least expecting it, when we were least deserving of it. He can and He did! God can save a nation in a millisecond. He can and He did! Oh, the undeserved JOY! God saved our nation from evil with His steadfast mercy. We received deliverance that we had not earned, it was not due us, not in the least, but it was gifted and we were saved.

We prayed and we waited for a very long time in faith, in perseverance and in hope, but felt like it was hopeless to be delivered from this evil, because our nation had fallen so far away from God.

We knew that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, yet it did not feel like love, it felt hard, hopeless, and unsettling in our cultural chaos. Yet God, He kept reminding us of His steadfast mercy, that He would make a way for us, even if we did not deserve the deliverance, He would save us from the evil that had taken over our nation.

God’s Steadfast Mercy, at times, is something we have done nothing for, it is gifted absolutely, with no conditions met, kind of like unconditional love is given so freely, even when it was not expected. When we get something we don’t deserve, the joy seems magnified, the tears flow, and the gratitude that follows is soul saturating. All we can say is: Thank you God, Thank you God… Oh, the underserved joy, so beautiful, so humbling, and the tears flow, cleansing our soul, healing our spirit and fortifying our faith in the steadfast mercy of our God!

The steadfast mercy of God is constant in forgiveness, constant in unconditional deliverance, even if the state of affairs of our life is really bad, mercy is still randomly gifted. Steadfast mercy, our God has always rolled this way, delivering those He loves from the hand of evil, even when we did not deserve to be delivered. Oh the JOY of His undeserved mercy, it washes over our soul and elates our spirit in the miraculous intervention of God’s unconditional love for us. In the light of steadfast mercy we realize there is nothing irreversible with God. We can turn back to our God, no matter what state we are in and we will be received and met with steadfast mercy.

God’s mercy is new every morning and great is His faithfulness. When we experience the huge gesture of God’s mercy, knowing it is the divine intervention of the Lord, where He has delivered us from the hand of the enemy, thwarted the evil plans and set us free, and to top it off, God has given us a new day, we stand in Awe of our God.

This divine intervention, this mercy of God that is so undeserved, that we did not earn, this kind of mercy is so overwhelmingly beautiful. This steadfast mercy causes us to humbly bow before Him as we receive something we did not deserve, as we know without a doubt, it was the intervention of the Mighty Right Hand of God. God saved us from evil. Oh, the JOY!

These are the times that we look at the condition of our hearts and think: Are we holy-wholly His? Are we all in with Jesus? This is our response to mercy gifted, it is to give our lives to Him, and be all in with Jesus. Let it be so.
