London Police Chief Confirms Trudeau’s Taxpayer Funded Hard Drug Experiment Has Been A Disaster November 26, 2024 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ottawa, ON– After nine years, the NDP-Liberal government’s reckless taxpayer-funded hard drugs experiment has been a disaster. Since 2015, 47,000 Canadians have died in drug overdose deaths. In 2023 alone, 8,049 Canadians were killed by opioids, up 7% in just the last year. Today, at Health Committee, the Chief of the London Police Serviceconfirmedthat taxpayer-funded hard drugs are being diverted to communities across Canada. In fact, over 30,000 hydromorphone pills were seized in 2023, with most being diverted from so-called “safe supply” programs. He later went on to say that Canadians “are being targeted by criminals who exchange these prescriptions for fentanyl, exacerbating addiction and community harm.” On top of this, the police chief alsoconfirmedthat women are being exploited as a direct result of the Trudeau’s taxpayer-funded hard drug program, with vulnerable women being pimped out and trafficked for their government supplied opioids. Data released by London Police Service earlier this year revealed that seizures of drugs from Trudeau's taxpayer-funded drug program has increased, while pharmacy robberies have decreased. This increased from 25 percent of the 5,000 hydromorphone tablets seized in 2021, to 50% of the 30,000 tablets seized in 2023. In spite of this clear evidence of failure, Trudeau has refused to rule out bringing hard drug legalization to Ontario and other parts of Canada, something the chiefsaidhe is not in support of.
