"The Harder They Fall,"
In this classic episode from Season 3 of "Three's Company," hilarity ensues when Janet invites a handsome customer from her flower shop, Gregg, back to the apartment for what she hopes will be a romantic evening. Her plan hits a snag when Jack, eager to leave for the night to give Janet some privacy, accidentally falls down the stairs and breaks his leg right after Mr. Roper has hosed them down, making them slippery. With Jack now confined to the apartment with a cast, and Chrissy by his side to help, Janet's date is anything but private. The misunderstanding escalates when Gregg and Janet walk in to find Jack and Chrissy in bed together, leading to a series of comedic explanations and miscommunications. Mr. Roper, concerned about being sued for Jack's accident, adds to the chaos by mistakenly thinking Gregg is a lawyer trying to negotiate a settlement.
The episode showcases the physical comedy of John Ritter, who plays Jack, with plenty of slapstick humor, especially during the scenes where Jack is navigating with crutches. It's a quintessential '70s sitcom episode filled with misunderstandings, over-the-top scenarios, and the charm of the main trio's dynamic. Jack's mishap on the stairs leading to his broken leg.
