Ray Michaels interviews Monica Yelin, Executive Director of the Hispanic Liberty Alliance. Monica originally immigrated to the United States in 1998, armed with only a single suitcase, three hundred dollars, a J-1 Work Visa, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and unbridled ambition. She earned her Master’s degree in International Relations and Political Science.

Beyond her academic pursuits, she became deeply involved in her community, volunteering for grassroots causes, canvassing neighborhoods, and campaign management. She worked for a major insurance company, advancing to become their Grassroots Chairwoman. In 2005, she obtained her American citizenship.

Later, she transitioned to Director of Strategic Initiatives for a political committee and as a Public Outreach Director for the United States House of Representatives. She also specialized in Homeland Security and Immigration matters, exemplifying her commitment to the country that welcomed her twenty-five years ago.
