Identity Of Border Patrol Agent Who Was Shot & Killed Near Canadian Border Revealed

A U.S. Border Patrol agent who was shot and killed on a highway in northern Vermont just south of the Canadian border – has been identified as 44-year-old David Maland.

The agent was assigned to U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Swanton Sector, which covers parts of Vermont, New York and New Hampshire, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Benjamine Huffman, the acting secretary of the department said, “Every single day, our Border Patrol agents put themselves in harm’s way so that Americans and our homeland are safe and secure.”
According to law enforcement sources, the migrant was in the country on a visa – that had expired. He was pulled over by the agent on a traffic stop, that’s when, they say, he allegedly shot the agent in the neck killing him.

The migrant is reportedly also dead, and a woman was injured in the altercation.

Border Patrol saying they are expecting some of the migrant criminals who are in the country illegally to escape north into Canada as Trump implements his immigration policies, and Mass Deportation plan.

Maland was with Border Patrol for nearly a decade and was transferred from Texas to Vermont where he worked along the northern border.
