We lucked out on the threat of heavy showers and thunderstorms that were looking concerning just 24 hours ago. Storms either passed to the north or to the south. The flash flood watch has been canceled for the southern part of the viewing area. We could see an isolated shower or thunderstorm overnight. Temperatures will drop down into the mid 60s with southwest winds around 5 mph. We will have highs back up in the lower 80s with additional showers and thunderstorms and southwest winds around 5 to 10 mph. There is also a risk of some strong or severe thunderstorms. A marginal risk for severe weather has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for the southern half of the area. The risks include hail and gusty winds.  Showers and thunderstorms will be periodic and continue into Labor Day. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Storms will persist on and off through Wednesday. By Thursday it looks like a high pressure will shift this stormy pattern to the south of us. This high pressure though will bring high temperatures down into the upper 60s.
