Fire-Ravaged Southern California Braces for Gusty Winds and Heightened Wildfire Risk

Southern California faces heightened wildfire risks as strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity are forecast from Monday through Thursday, with gusts reaching up to 100 mph in mountainous areas.

Critical fire weather warnings extend from Los Angeles to San Diego, urging residents to prepare for possible evacuations.

Firefighters are battling the Palisades and Eaton fires, which have destroyed over 14,000 structures.

The Palisades fire, 52% contained, still burns in its interior, while the Eaton fire, 81% contained, remains under close watch.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has deployed resources for rapid response, and damage assessments continue, U.S. News and World Report has reported.
