Israeli families are celebrating the return of their loved ones after three hostages were released from Hamas' captivity.

Romi Gonen, 24, Emily Damari, 28, and Doron Steinbrecher, 31, were handed over to Israeli troops on Monday before 3am after being kidnapped by Hamas terrorists 471 days ago.

All three women appear to be in good relative physical health.

Emily Damari's mother released a statement, thanking those who helped secure her daughter's release.

“I want to thank everyone who never stopped fighting for Emily throughout this horrendous ordeal, and who never stopped saying her name. In Israel, Britain, the United States, and around the world. Thank you for bringing Emily home," Ms Damari said.

90 Palestinian prisoners have been released as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.
