Exodus 3 describes an exchange between Moses and God in which Moses expresses doubts about his own identity and God's. He also asks, even if he is convinced, how will he convince anyone else that God sent him on this mission to free the Hebrews? God's reply is that he is the God who keeps his promises, and everyone will know that Moses is his apostle (sent one) because God will make his mission a success against all of man's expectations.
