LONDON ERUPTS At Gaza Peace March Chaos!
Right, so the liberal democracy that is supposedly the United Kingdom was yesterday proven to be anything but when protesters took to the streets of London, marching for the people of Gaza, marching against the atrocities being meted out against them by the Israeli regime of Benjamin Netanyahu. Instead, the Met Police gave what can quite readily be considered as a stellar example of protecting and serving Israeli interests and not the people of Britain. What we saw yesterday was what London has seen every Saturday for months, a march calling for a ceasefire, the end of the genocide in Gaza and all that made this one different was that people were broadly in a celebratory mood because the ceasefire was coming the next day, now having come into effect at time of writing, all that was different this time, was instead of calling for a ceasefire it was cheering that one was finally here and that ounce of joy, that bit of positivity at last had to be shut down as the authoritarian regime here, headed by Keir Starmer, used the police as their blunt instrument to crack down on protest, in a way the likes of the IDF or Shin Bet or Mossad would be proud of. Protect and Serve. It seems that applies to the state of Israel and London’s streets, not us.
Right, so what should have been a day of celebration and cheering turned into a complete and utter nightmare for people in London yesterday on one of the worst police crackdowns on protest yet witnessed. Long has it been known the Met Police are not fit for purpose in so many ways, not least the various crime statistics in the City these days, brought in part due to cuts in police numbers and funding, but equally because of their reputation, how they conduct themselves with trust in the Met swimming around in the same miasma Keir Starmer’s own popularity numbers sit.
It is not a crime to protest and yet random people around Trafalgar Square were violently grabbed and arrested for daring to celebrate and cheer a ceasefire, celebrate the good news for the people of Gaza. Where those serious crimes you would think should be attracting the attention of the Met Police most of all, instead 1100 of them were deployed to police a march that has continued for weeks and weeks with next to now incident and those that have come have typically come from the by comparison, tiny number of Zionists counter protesting, who themselves got police protection rather than being policed. The only anger there was amongst the Gaza protesters was that it had taken so long to get where we are.
Rather than being out and solving real crime, instead the police were deployed to crack down on peaceful protest that we know the government of the day doesn’t agree with, rabid Zionists as the Starmer government is full of, an abuse of the human right to freedom of assembly, to freedom of speech is what we’ve borne witness too, once more reminding us that the former human rights barrister that is our Prime Minister actually believes in nothing of the sort. Where out government, past or present might make the claim of police brutality being an affront to those human rights, to those freedoms, when witnessed in Russia or China, or any other nation we consider an enemy, it’s literally here on our streets that is happening too, so the hypocrisy is off the chain.
What a waste of public money, what an abuse of public resources, how many children could have been spared poverty under the two child benefit cap could this have paid for instead just as a for instance?
Nothing quite exemplified the deliberate targeting of people in the crowds and the true nature of the police presence there though, than the frankly brutal arrest, literally a pile on of police officers of Christopher Nineham, the 62 year old founder of the Stop The War Coalition. They guy who founded the Stop The War Coalition, got piled on and arrested for marching in celebration of a ceasefire, it’s literally everything the guy stands for, he has been the chief steward for more London protests than I’ve had hot dinners, he is Mr Organiser when it comes to these marches, he’s done it so many times and for so long, for him of all people to be arrested can only ever be seen as an assault on civil liberties, the chief steward of this march arrested, the last person frankly who should have been, because if he’s guilty of some confected offence, he was part of a delegation laying flowers to the memory of dead Gazan children, that is literally what he was doing at point of arrest - then every single person there should have been arrested too, but of course that’s not possible, nor justifiable. Nineham’s peace sign given from the back of a Met paddy wagon is an image that is going to go down in history and will be an image forever associated with the authoritarianism and abuse of power we’re becoming more accustomed to under this Starmer regime and there can be no doubt now that that is exactly what we have here in the UK, a regime. We’d call it such if this was China, we should call it likewise here.
Another woman hustled on film that I’ve seen was wearing a Transport for London baby on board badge, something pregnant women wear to gain a bit of space and possibly assistance when using public transport in the City. The Met didn’t give her the same courtesy, pulled and dragged around as she was by 4 or 5 big brave Met police officers.
What began as a ban on the march going anywhere near the BBC – I can’t imagine why they’d be so afraid of people marching for truth and justice as well as peace – became an assault on free speech and liberty and the Met couldn’t even be honest themselves.
They of course have a Twitter account on one particular post they put out incensed a nation, and certainly a good number of voices who were present at that march. The post in question reads:
‘The group that forced its way through the police line is now held at the north west corner of Trafalgar Square. Anyone in that group should now disperse and leave the area. Anyone remaining in breach of the conditions, or inciting further breaches, will be arrested.’
This was the group Chris Nineham was a part of and he was far from alone so that claim of forcing their way through? Well it had a number of high profile in attendance too and they didn’t get arrested!
Also in the delegation were currently suspended Labour MP John McDonnell, Jeremy Corbyn, Stop The War’s Lindsay German and Holocaust survivor and former Labour member Stephen Kapos, all of these men in their 70s and 80s, yet these are the people apparently forcing their way through police lines! The comments on this post came with massive condemnation.
Green Party Deputy Leader Zack Polanski, also in this delegation wrote:
‘"Forced through." I was in this group of people carrying flowers - and the police had stepped aside to let us through. For the police to say that a group had "forced it's way through" is simply inaccurate & seeks to stoke division from a peaceful protest.’
John McDonnell also called this out saying:
‘I spoke at demo & was part of a procession of speakers aiming to go to BBC to lay flowers commemorating the death of Palestinian children. We did not force our way thru, the police allowed us to go thru & when stopped in Trafalgar Square we laid our flowers down & dispersed.
I would be grateful if the Met Police could publish the body camera footage of my conversation with a white capped police officer at the head of the procession in which I explained this was our intention.
Regrettably, soon after I had explained to the police officer our intentions & we awaited the arrangements to lay the flowers, bizarrely the police violently arrested one of the march stewards, who was organising the presentation of the flowers & the dispersal of the crowd.’
That being the arrest of Chris Nineham.
Jeremy Corbyn also echoed John McDonnell’s words saying:
‘This is not an accurate description of events at all. I was part of a delegation of speakers, who wished to peacefully carry and lay flowers in memory of children in Gaza who had been killed. This was facilitated by the police. We did not force our way through. When we reached Trafalgar Square, we informed police that we would go no further, lay down flowers and disperse. At that point, the Chief Steward, Chris Nineham was arrested. We then turned back and dispersed. I urge the police to release all bodycam footage and retract its misleading account of events.’
The Met had a poor reputation before this, they’ll now be seen as nothing less than the big balls of Keir Starmer being put into force as he put it in an interview with the Scum this week, saying he had the balls needed to slash benefit payments, when that needs nothing of the sort, because only a coward, a thug and a bully would say such a thing and treat the British people with the violence the police meted out in London yesterday and punch down on those with the lowest incomes and who may not be able to work, but also includes so many who already do work and yet still can’t make ends meet. Instead of lifting them up, Starmer is the kind to attack them all the more, kicking someone when they’re down and the police are acting on his weasel words. Get all the details on Starmer thinking he’s got big balls when really he has no balls in this video recommendation here as your suggested next watch, please do also hit like, share and subscribe to ensure you don’t miss out on new daily content and help support the channel which is of course very much appreciated and I will hopefully catch you on the next vid.
