Why did the Palestinians refuse the two state solution?
Because the British were the ones who were expected to implement it.

During World War One, the British had promised the Zionists a Jewish State and Palestine and had promised the Arabs a Kingdom of their own independent of the Ottoman Empire.

Then they made a secret deal with France (Sykes-Picot Agreement) to carve up the Middle East and stab both the Jews and the Arabs in the back.

Then the Brits did what they always did: they introduced a licensing system. Suddenly you needed license for almost everything … and these went to Europeans … mainly Jews.

An Arab owning a shipping company could suddenly no longer get an import/export license and had to sell his ships for next to nothing to a European.

Families of date farmers were suddenly no longer to export their fruit and had to sell them for next to nothing to European merchants.

The promised profits from oil ended up in the pockets of Europeans.

The Arabs in general became a lot poorer under British rule compare to under Ottoman rule.

So in 1947 when the Two State Solution was discussed, the UN wanted the British to implement it and the Arabs didn’t trust the British after having been screwed over for nearly three decades.
