You've Gotta FIGHT for Your Right to Repair!

I'm gonna fix something that the manufacturer doesn't want me to fix. What happens when a perfectly good machine can't be serviced or maintained because you can't get parts for it? That's a real pain in the butt! I like to fix stuff. Why do some companies purposefully make their stuff hard or IMPOSSILE to repair or service? Recently John Deere fought the right to repair. I think that's wrong!

I'm trying to service the UV water filter bulb in our water treatment system and running into some real roadblocks. Why would Polar UV make their stuff so hard for a homeowner to service?

The Polar UV UV system I have is a HWUV5-25C with a HWUV56-C controller. It's essentially the same as the HWUV6-25C. The Luminor equivalent is a LBH5-251 with a RCHO-56.12 controller.

The "downgraded" version is the HWUV4-25C with the HWUV4-CC controller. It's equivalent to the Luminor LBH4-251 with the RCHO-4.12 controller.
