Isaiah 66 – Verse 1 – you need to really contemplate exactly what it means.

Isa 66:1
Thus says the LORD, "Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?

Far from denigrating the Temple, Elohim is stating that the Temple that was built cannot contain Him. The heavens and earth cannot contain Him.
1 Kings 8:27 “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain Thee, how much less this house which I have built!

2 Chron. 6:18 “But will God indeed dwell with mankind on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain Thee; how much less this house which I have built.
