The Content of Policy is the Method By Which It is Made

An incredible potential to overturn the imperial chessboard of geopolitics, genocide, and permanent wars has now shown itself in the last days before President Trump’s inauguration.

The intervention of Trump to implement a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas shows a certain resolve, in contrast to the toothless Biden Administration making empty platitudes while clearly giving support to Israel’s genocidal campaign. However, a real settlement of the crisis based on a comprehensive development plan for the entire Southwest Asia region will not come about from this process, but from the efforts of concrete leaders, such as Helga Zepp-LaRouche who has made the point of promoting the Oasis Plan as the basis for Palestinian statehood.

This was highlighted in the last discussion of the International Peace Coalition, where there was clear agreement between Helga’s policy and Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, and Scott Ritter, former UN weapons arms inspector and U.S. marine. Helga said to both in the discussion, “I can only share your concern that the situation is a hopeful break, but if we would rest on our laurels, I think the potential that this could go totally wrong is absolutely there. So, I would just say it is now in my view the moment when we should all push the Oasis Plan, because Trump has said of himself many times that he is a builder, and he does understand something about construction.”
We shall not rest on our laurels, but continue the fight for policy globally. The world is undergoing a tectonic shift from 500 years of colonialism to new economic partnerships based on mutual respect and respect for the other. The Global South, or the “Global Majority,” has rejected the notion that any one superpower can impose its will against the sovereignty of nations. We must embrace this shift now.
