Brachiosaurus is a dinosaur that mainly lived 150 million years ago on the continent of what is now North America. However, its bones have also been found in what is now Portugal and sometimes in Africa. It was one of the largest dinosaurs to have lived on land.
Brachiosaurus was on average 23 metres long and 13 metres high and weighed about 23 tonnes. It is known for its very long neck, which was usually 8 to 9 metres long. Brachiosaurus was a herbivore. Thanks to its long neck, it could easily reach the leaves of the trees and therefore could eat without having to search for food on the ground. The first bones of this dinosaur were found in North America in 1883. When the first bones of Brachiosaurus were found, it was thought that it must have lived in water because of its size. But today we know that it lived on land.
What if these animals were still alive today? Write it in the comments.
