The film documents an eight-year period of one of the greatest bands to emerge from San Francisco. Their story is told through interviews with band members and their manager, complete vintage performances of their biggest hits, and through rare and never before seen photos from photographer Jim Marshall. Follow the white rabbit down its rabbit hole.

Vintage performance footage of their best-known songs are presented. The performances span the classic "hits" of the 1966-1970 era: "It's No Secret", "White Rabbit", "Somebody To Love", "Plastic Fantastic Lover" as well as lesser-known gems "Martha" and the two "Pooneil" songs.
