Today, we’re talking about: What is the Great Commission, and why is it important? If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time, you’ve heard the term, but what does it really mean?
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) says:
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
This is what we call the Great Commission. It is the command Jesus gave to His disciples just before ascending into heaven. And it wasn’t just for them—it’s for us today.
