Milk Fever

Milk Fever is a dreaded word for a diary cow owner. But surprisingly, it's simple to prevent and treat. However, it's not 100% guaranteed, but good to know!

First: what is it? Basically the cow can not make enough calcium quick enough and the body shuts down quickly
Prevention: don't let them have calcium in their diet 30-60 days before having a calf.
Treatment: give them calcium!
