Democrats Wants McCain's Name To Be Replace Senate Building's Current Name
Sen. Chris Coons (D., Del.) backed on Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D., N.Y.) call to rename the Russell Senate Office Building after Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.).
McCain passed away on Saturday after a year long battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The senator was such a monumental figure that leaders around the world have shared their respects for the Arizona senator.
After the news of McCain's passing, Schumer wrote in a tweet that he would introduce a resolution to rename the Russell Senate Office Building after the one time Republican presidential candidate.
"Nothing will overcome the loss of Senator McCain, but so that generations remember him I will be introducing a resolution to rename the Russell building after him," Schumer tweeted.
