FBI Shines Light On "Human Chop Shop" in Phoenix Owned By Stephen Gore

The FBI investigation into what was described as a “human chop shop” in Phoenix, Arizona, revealed disturbing scenes at the Biological Resource Center (BRC). The investigation, which began in January 2014, uncovered numerous body parts mishandled and stored improperly. According to court documents and testimony from former FBI agents, the scenes included:

Buckets of heads, arms, and legs
A cooler filled with male genitalia
A small woman’s head sewn onto a large male torso “like Frankenstein” and hanging on a wall
Infected heads
Body parts stacked on top of one another with no identification tags
The FBI found 10 tons of frozen human remains, including 281 heads, 337 legs, and 97 spines. The Biological Resource Center, owned by Stephen Gore, was accused of fraud by claiming that donated bodies would be used for medical research, when it knew some remains would be sold for military testing, such as crashes and explosions. Gore pleaded guilty to illegal control of an enterprise and faced a civil lawsuit where a Maricopa County Superior Court jury awarded $58 million to ten of 21 plaintiffs.
