The protest "CEASEFIRE TODAY. LIBERATION TOMORROW. GAZA WILL RISE" in Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City), was organized by the Shut It Down For Palestine coalition (www.shutitdown4palestine.org), on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

"GAZA WILL RISE: After 465 days of genocide, Palestinians in Gaza have not only survived, but shown the world that they will continue to rise until liberation. With the announcement of a ceasefire, the long road ahead will be one of return and rebuilding, holding Zionists and war criminals to account, and continuing to drive the struggle for liberation forward.

The Palestinian people have paid the heaviest price on earth to remain on their land. There remains no one in Gaza who has not had family members and friends ascend to martyrdom as a result of Israel’s US-backed extermination campaign. Sweeping destruction exists in every area of Gaza, and despite the announcement of a ceasefire, over one million people continue to endure the misery and indignity of the displacement tents.
