Israel Delays Cease-Fire Deal; Blames Hamas for Reneging

Israel delayed a cabinet vote on a Gaza cease-fire deal after Prime Minister Netanyahu accused Hamas of breaking parts of the agreement.

The deal, mediated in Qatar, involves phased hostages and prisoner exchanges alongside humanitarian aid. Disputes over military withdrawal and prisoner releases remain unresolved.

Right-wing Israeli politicians and protests oppose the truce, threatening Netanyahu’s coalition.

Despite continued Israeli airstrikes and Hamas attacks, U.S. officials express confidence in implementing the deal, which could end one of the Middle East’s deadliest conflicts, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
