Members of the National Police of the Metropolitan District of Guayaquil managed to thwart the kidnapping of an elderly man after a chase that took place in the Flor de Bastión sector, northwest of the city. The incident was recorded in several videos.

According to the authorities, three men were arrested for holding hostage the citizen who worked as an informal taxi driver.

The detainees were identified as Andy A., 19 years old, Eduardo R., 20 years old, and PCMD, a minor.

As evidence, a firearm, seven rounds of ammunition, and three cell phones were found, in addition to the vehicle in which they were traveling.

This persecution arose after a citizen complaint that ended with the arrest of the three criminals and the rescue of the citizen, who was transferred to a health center for his respective care.

Segura EP published a video in which police officers on motorcycles can be briefly seen chasing a car through the streets of Flor de Bastión. One of them even points a gun at the suspects' vehicle.

In addition, the National Police indicated that among those arrested there is a minor.

The National Police released another video, captured by bodycam devices, which recorded the moments of the intense chase and the crash of the car in which the kidnappers and the victim were traveling.

In this video, the motorcycles and the suspicious vehicle can be seen travelling at high speed through narrow streets while police officers fire several shots.

After the use of firearms, the car in which the criminals were holding the elderly man kidnapped collided twice until it became immobilized, as can be seen in the images.

The cameras captured how, after the crash, one of the suspects climbed out of the car window and ended up on the ground.
