WHY POETRY? - I Wanted To Die

At the age of 26, nearly 8 years ago, I became so overwhelmingly wracked with pain and exhaustion that I wanted to die; but Jesus saved me. And poetry is one of the many good and gracious things He used to sustain me, and to help me better understand my situation. While I do not understand God exhaustively, or His reasons for allowing suffering at the present time, I have come to understand many true things about Him that remain unchanged in times of either suffering or prosperity.

Jesus Christ, our Lord God and Savior, is all-powerful, all-knowing, just, infinitely loving and good; always. For these reasons, I have learned that what I do not know does not change what I do know. Jesus Christ is worthy of our loyal love and trust in all circumstances. He is the reason I chose to keep on living, and He is the only hope for those of us who live in a seemingly hopeless world.
