Danish author and translator Povl Heinrich Riis-Knudsen and his Russian wife travel through Russia to tell their friends in Denmark, Europe and America about their impressions. In Russia he is called Pavel because he converted to Orthodoxy to marry his Orthodox wife (he was baptized in the name of the chief apostle Paul). Pavel writes articles about Russia and Russians - he writes truthfully and with love. He sees it as his mission in these difficult times when the media in Europe and the US are full of false information about Russia. Pavel spends his personal savings to show his friends his beloved Russia. He has a Russian car, a Lada Granta, which has never let him down in the three years he has been traveling.
