"Harlem Nights" (1989) -BANNED on YouBoob -EDDIE MURPHY SERIES' FINAL INSTALLMENT

This 1989 Paramount Pictures production features "African-American" icons, whose worldwide influence is UNmeasurable! This line-up includes Eddie Murphy, which this series has centered on; Redd Foxx, whose filthy standup comedy helped "pave the way" for others of his ilk; Richard Pryor, whose fame & fortune was just as substantial as his drug addiction, which ate up his face in a fire; Arsenio Hall, who made barking like a dog, especially for black males, a popular culture; Stan Shaw whose been in a number of films as the ignorant but happy to go along with black man trope; the intriguing Della Reese, a jazz singer turned actress in the 60's who became a female minister in the 80's; Jasmine Guy, who for some reason was casted a lot back in the day, even though some might say she had a bit of a butch personification; the seductively attractive Lela Rochon, etc.

This production also featured a cast of several white men, career Hollywood extras/supporting actors, who filled in as the STANDARD evil, stupid, emasculated, incompetent mass media trope (i.e. Danny Aiello, Michael Lerner, Vic Polizos, David Marciano).

But what do they all have in common? Well, for decades/generations they all hated on Bill Cosby for being "TOO CLEAN" (HUH), a former powerhouse in his own right; that is before he gave the same speech to his alma mater that he gave to another university, etc. Namely that people should have integrity and self-respect. The problem was that he gave this speech to a BLACK UNIVERSITY, & therefore Mass Media made an example of him so that everyone else would fear holding blacks accountable.... And now here we are.!

When it came to Cosby’s indictment, did it matter that his initial accuser dropped the charges WITHOUT a payoff, and that the authorities broke the law (lying to him for a confession for a crime that was well past the statute of limitations, but one that so common in the 70's that by the 80's everyone knew to guard your drink at a party) and all this during the controversial "Me Too Movement." So they essentially put an old man in prison, which "paved the way" for countless of his black peers, starting with liberal movies like "Man and Boy" (1971) about a black family colonizing the west post Civil War, The Cosby Show, etc. etc. Yet, evidently neither Cochran nor Crump could/would save him!

Notice how Whoopi Goldberg was passed over for this flick too!
