PHRK visits: A trip around Omsk (Part I). Art Museum, ROC Temple. -08.04.2022-

Russia is a very large country. Omsk is located in Siberia. It is a large and beautiful city. It has about 1 million 200 thousand inhabitants. A Danish man and his Russian wife arrived in Omsk on the evening of April 7, 2022. They stayed at the Mayak Hotel, which is located right on two Siberian rivers: Irtysh and Om. The windows of some of the hotel rooms face the Irtysh, while the rooms on the other side of the hotel face the Om. On April 8, after breakfast, the travelers went for a walk around the city to visit its museums and temples. And as usual, they recorded photo and video material about their trip.

Povl Heinrich Riis-Knudsen is happy to be able to share these impressions of Omsk with his Danish friends. Most of them don't even know about such a city in Russia, and it is beautiful and quiet.

Danish author, translator and traveler Povl Heinrich Riis-Knudsen's friends in Russia call him Pavel. The fact is that Povl Heinrich Riis-Knudsen was baptized in 2018 in the Holy Trinity's Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Saint Petersburg in the name of the chief apostle Paul. Paul had previously been a Lutheran since 1950. He converted to Orthodoxy because he wanted to marry his Russian Orthodox bride. The registration of their marriage and the ceremony took place on July 13, 2018 in an Orthodox church in Moscow.

Since then, they have traveled around Russia and other countries around the world. In Russia, Pavel and Valentina make short videos to tell their friends in Denmark and other countries around the world about the beauty of Russia and Russians. Pavel and his wife see it as their mission. In their opinion, it is very important in our current difficult situation.
