"Rebel Women" to take capitol building on Kansas day, Jan. 29, 2025

Rebel Women" is an 8-foot-by-19-foot oil on canvas mural by artist Phyllis J. Garibay-Coon of Manhattan, Kansas, depicting 13 Kansas women integral to advancing women's rights in the state.

The mural will be unveiled at the Kansas State Capitol on January 29, 2025, during the Kansas Day program, which begins at 12 p.m. in the Capitol's first-floor rotunda.

The Kansas Suffragist Memorial Committee continues to encourage donations to cover the artist's compensation.
