Does water glassing eggs really work?

In this video you will see how eggs that have been water glassed for an entire year are perfectly preserved and still edible!
To make the lime solution, use the ratio of one quart of filtered water to 1 oz of pickling lime by weight. Mix well. The water must be chlorine free. Gently fill your wide mouth jar with eggs, being careful to place each one individually so they do not crack. Any size jar will do, just make sure you can fit your hand in it.
Pour the solution over the eggs making sure they are completely covered. If you need to add a little more water to cover the eggs that's fine. Secure the lid, and you are ready to store your eggs for up to one year!
*note: do not use store-bought eggs! The protective layer, called the "bloom", has been washed off of those eggs. Your eggs must be fresh, not refrigerated, and not washed. If they are dirty, buff them off with a dry towel.
