Rick Caruso’s Palisades Village Mall Intact as L.A. Burns Under Karen Bass

Rick Caruso, the billionaire developer who ran for Los Angeles mayor in 2022 against eventual winner Karen Bass, managed to protect his Palisades Village mall from the L.A. wildfires — as well as some other local businesses — but the homes relying on Bass's protection nearby were destroyed.
