Clayton Mcallister Interview

Today I have some good news to share. Earlier this year, I introduced you to Clayton Mcallister, an Ice Road Trucker (like the TV shows) who was in Ottawa for the duration of the Freedom Convoy. He was the first trucker arrested in Ottawa during the cleanup operation just after Valentine's Day in February, 2024.

We sat down to interview this week, and I will send that out as soon as it's ready.

His iconic photo of lying down in peaceful protest in front of the police line (below) went viral around the world as a symbol of the non-violent protest.

Clayton was arrested and charged with multiple criminal charges including 2 counts of mischief, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and not following a court order. After making a deal that included giving money to a charity, and writing a 100 word essay, his charges were dropped.

That's great news! Thanks for giving generously earlier this year to support this fight.

As you know, even though his charges were dropped, the government won't pay a dime for his legal bills. In a civil case, if you win, or the other side backs out prematurely, you can claim costs. Not so in a criminal proceeding. Clayton still has to cover his legal bills for multiple court dates these last two years.

Clayton needs to raise about $5,000 to cover these costs. Can you please chip in today to help?
