Trump HUMILIATES Pedro Sánchez and INVITES Abascal to his Investiture
A week before Donald Trump is sworn in as President of the United States for the second time, a resounding humiliation has been seen for the Government of Pedro Sánchez and his diplomacy. While the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has received a personal invitation to attend the ceremony in the Capitol in Washington, Sánchez has had to settle for a generic protocol invitation, sent to practically all countries in the world, except for totalitarian regimes. This fact reflects not only the lack of international weight of the Spanish Executive, but also its isolation from leaders with solid values.
Abascal will travel this Thursday as a representative of the European parliamentary group Patriots for Europe, accompanied by leaders of other allied parties such as the FPÖ of Austria, the RN of France, Fidesz in Hungary, Chega of Portugal and the PVV of the Netherlands. This gesture highlights the solid international relations that Vox has built, positioning itself as a relevant player on the global scene, something that contrasts with the increasingly questioned credibility of Sánchez's socialist government.
The ceremony will also be attended by renowned international leaders such as the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni; the Argentine President, Javier Milei; the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele; and even Jair Bolsonaro, former President of Brazil. These names reinforce the idea that Trump has known how to surround himself with key figures who represent a change of direction towards conservatism and freedom.
It is worth remembering that Abascal already met Trump in February of last year during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington. At that event, they not only shared similar ideas, but they immortalized the moment with a photograph, both with their thumbs up, a symbol of a connection that transcends borders.
The contrast is evident: while Vox strengthens its international ties, Sánchez remains relegated to the background, demonstrating his inability to position Spain with dignity on the global stage.
