Simple and EASY Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

This is one of the simplest scalloped potato recipes in our cook book and one of the first ones I used when I was learning to make these. The ingredients are a pretty basic and with the addition of garlic it just makes it even better. Sometime I do turn the oven off and let them in there until the sauce thickens up a bit. You can also top them with any cheese you like or garnish with a little parsley, too.

Ingredients
3 cups heavy cream
Pinch of salt
Pepper to taste
3 Garlic cloves
1 teaspoon minced fresh thyme, optional
4 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced (we used Yukon Gold)
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine cream, salt, pepper and, if desired, thyme. Arrange potatoes in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Pour cream mixture over top.
Bake, uncovered, until potatoes are tender and top is lightly browned, 50-60 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. If desired, sprinkle with parsley.
