"All things mirrored bɘɿoɿɿim ƨϱniʜɈ llA: A speculation into the effects of reflection(s), duplication and symmetry through Active Inference"
Shanna Dobson, Sonia de Jager

The concept and phenomenon of reflection, when highly abstractly posited, can be said to abound across domains. To name a few, in mathematics and computation: symmetries, equivalence, completeness; in physics: reversibility, all manner of map-territory considerations; in evolutionary biology: duplication and reproduction, the organism as a model of the environment; in philosophy: reflexivity, 場所, universal/particular transits, difference and repetition; in (psycho)linguistics: reference, redundancy, reiteration, rhyme; in artistic practice; the (question of the) imitation of ‘life’; and the list may go on. In this presentation we will explore aspects of reflection, through a series of examples from the histories of science and art, as well as trace some of their philosophical exposures, in an effort to ground or naturalize them as actively inferential phenomena.
