Wife and I were on a three city tour of China in 1983 with a friend from high school and his wife.

We toured city communes and farm communes. Factories all owned and operated by the CCP, the Chinese Communist Party.

What I saw, was mostly dirty and poor living quarters with communal kitchens and shared bathrooms.

The farms were mechanically, and technologically backward. The work was slovenly done, and the barns looked as though the work was done under duress.

We, on one occasion, met with some local youths just outside of hotel. The Park Hotel had not been refurbished since 1949 when the People’s Liberation Republican Army took power under Mao Zedong.

A murderous leader like Gavin Newscum in California. Who really doesn’t care about the people just his security within the PARTY.

Wife and I stepped out in front of the Park Hotel to take in the sites and the sounds of an early morning of downtown Shanghai.

We thought we were taking in the sites when it was all turned around on us; we became the site.

A group of university students gathered around us. The students who were proficient in English were push forward.

The two questions I got that morning was. “How, why is a trailer house? What does a trailer house look like.

So I drew my rendition of a trailer house. A hitch on a camper trailer. The concept of a living quarters that was pulled around was completely out of their way thinking.

Just as some concepts, so foreign to us now, will break in upon our consciousness soon.
So for some people it will take a couple of years to recover.
Aliens, draconian and some of them are good and some are very bad.

The other question that morning was. “What is a megahertz?” Not knowing a lot about the subject. I drew a radio dial from 570 MHz to 1610 MHz.

I enjoyed their thirst for knowledge and learning about something which is completely out of their wheelhouse of their current knowledge.
