Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff on Monday, Aug. 20, on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex in honor of Detroit Police Officer Fadi Shukur. Officer Shukur died Wednesday, Aug. 15, after being struck in a hit-and-run on Aug. 4 while on duty.
