The Early Churches and the Baptist Connection

Recently, in a YouTube comment, someone mentioned the Didache, written around 70 AD, and the letters of Ignatius, written around 107 AD, to suggest that the Early Church wasn’t Baptist. While I appreciate the discussion and the opportunity to delve into church history, I think this view oversimplifies a very complex and fascinating topic. I’d like to share my thoughts on why I believe the early churches—not a singular "Early Church"—actually reflect a pattern more aligned with the principles held by modern Baptists than with later institutionalized systems like Catholicism.
